A big hit by Los Angeles Rams safety Tanner Ingle drew the ire of the NFL this week.
The league fined Ingle $4,666 for a first-quarter hit on Los Angeles Chargers receiver Quentin Johnston that resulted in Johnston leaving the game with a concussion, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Ingle, 25, is an undrafted player out of NC State in 2023. He’s only played on the Rams’ practice squad during his career. Ingle signed a reserve/futures contract this offseason to remain with the team.
Ingle had nine tackles in the Rams’ preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday. He was also allegedly involved in the play that led to Browns running back Pierre Strong being evaluated for a concussion.
It’s unclear if Ingle will make the Rams’ 53-man roster in 2025. L.A. has three entrenched safeties in Kamren Kinchens, Kam Curl and Jaylen McCollough. Defensive back Quentin Lake is also a lock for a roster spot.
