USC women’s basketball gets another portal commit, lands Ryann Bennett

On Saturday, USC women’s basketball picked up its first transfer portal addition of the offseason when the Trojans signed Florida State’s Pania Davis. However, Lindsay Gottlieb and company were not done yet, as on the same day, the Women of Troy also added UC Davis transfer Ryann Bennett.

As a sophomore with the Aggies this past season, Bennett averaged 15.3 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. She has two years of eligibility remaining.

“I have known Ryann for years and she’s always been a competitor, a winner and someone who elevates teams,” USC head coach Lindsay Gottlieb said in a statement. “She has proven at the collegiate level to also be someone who can score, create for others and bring a high IQ to the court. When the portal opened, Ryann is someone we targeted for not just these qualities but also for her mindset.  We are excited to get to work and having Ryann in a Trojan jersey helps us in pursuit of all our goals.”

USC is loading up both on the high school recruiting trail and in the transfer portal this offseason. With the Trojans also bringing back an extremely strong core group of players, they should be among the favorites both in the Big Ten and nationally entering the 2026-2027 season.
