Authorities are investigating two separate stabbings in the Oxnard area Aptil 18.
The first stabbing was reported around 4:20 p.m. in the 900 block of Orange Drive of El Rio, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Capt. Aaron Grass. The sheriff’s office patrols the unincorporated community north of Oxnard.
A 19-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a woman who suffered minor injuries, Grass said.
The man was booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of felonies for corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant, two counts of assault with force likely to produce great bodily harm, false imprisonment, criminal threats and a misdemeanor for child endangerment, according to jail records.
He is being held on $30,000 bail and is set to appear in Ventura County Superior Court April 21, according to jail records.
The sheriff’s major crimes unit is investigating, Grass said. Anyone with additional information is asked to call 805-383-8704.
2 injured in Oxnard stabbing
Oxnard police are investigating a fight outside an Oxnard grocery store that sent two men to the hospital with stabbing injuries.
The Oxnard Police Department was called to the 1100 block of East Channel Islands Boulevard shortly after 9 p.m. for a report of a fight in progress, according to Cmdr. Miguel Serrato.
Officers found two men with stab wounds outside the store, and they were transported to Ventura County Medical Center and listed in stable condition, he said. It was the second apparent stabbing of the night in the area.
The commander said police believe others participated in the fight and fled the area. As of 9 a.m., no arrests had been made, Serrato said.
It was not immediately clear if the victims and suspects knew one another, he said. The agency’s violent crimes unit is investigating.
