A man charged with raping a stranger at gunpoint in West Price Hill more than 16 years ago is also accused in a separate case of a crime involving child sexual abuse material, court records show.
Robert Malone Jr., 36, was indicted last week in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court on numerous charges, including rape and kidnapping, Cincinnati police said in a news release on July 27.
The rape happened in April 2010 in the 3900 block of West Eighth Street, officials said, although investigators were unable to identify a suspect at the time.
It wasn’t until April 2026 that investigators reopened the case after they received a DNA profile hit from the Hamilton County Crime Lab, the release states.
Malone is currently being held at the Butler County Jail in connection with an unrelated criminal case, in which he’s charged with pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor.
It’s unclear when Malone is expected to make his first court appearance in Hamilton County.
