Mansfield police are investigating a shooting which injured a juvenile about 9 p.m. June 15.
Officers responded to the area of North Lake Park after receiving reports of shots fired. Officers found two empty vehicles near the park entrance that had been struck several times. The area was secured and a crime scene established, according to a news release from Mansfield Police Chief Jason Bammann.
“Shortly after officers arrived on scene, we were notified that a juvenile victim had arrived at a local hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Detectives responded to the hospital and began their investigation,” he said.
Officers recovered evidence from the scene, including numerous spent shell casings.
Detectives and crime scene personnel are reviewing video evidence. Investigators are continuing to conduct interviews and follow up on all leads.
At this time, the investigation remains active and there are no additional details.
