Who is Tycen Proper, Ohio man accused of leading White House drone plot?

A Danville man is accused of being one of the people leading a plot to violently attack a UFC fight on the White House lawn.

Tycen Proper, 19, faces multiple charges in U.S. District Court in Columbus, with prosecutors accusing him of self-identifying as one of the leaders of a plot to use drones and snipers to attack a White House event.

Proper is currently being held in the Franklin County jail after a federal magistrate judge ordered him to be held in detention. A further hearing to determine if Proper will be held in custody is scheduled for June 17.

What do we know about Tycen Proper?

Social media posts from Knox County Career Center show Proper was a senior there in the 2025-26 school year. The career center offers educational opportunities to students from local high schools.

A December social media post says Proper attended the center out of Danville High School and was studying landscape design and management. Proper graduated in spring 2026.

Records from the Ohio Secretary of State’s office show Proper was not registered to vote in Knox County.

No other public records were immediately able to be found related to Proper.

Where is Danville, Ohio?

Danville is a small village in Knox County with a population of about 1,000 people, according to 2020 census data.

The village is about 15 miles northeast of Mount Vernon, the Knox County seat.

Danville previously made headlines after police officer Thomas Cottrell died in the line of duty. Cottrell died after being ambushed outside the village police station in January 2016.
