Injury Update on Browns DT Mike Hall Jr. provided after OTA scare

The Cleveland Browns went through an injury scare during Wednesday’s voluntary OTAs when former second round pick and defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. went down with an apparent knee injury. The explosive pass rusher had to be helped off the field and seemingly could not put much weight on the leg.

However, good news for the Browns, Hall Jr. has been given a positive outlook despite the negative optics. The OBR’s Fred Greetham has reported that Hall Jr. was held out for “precautionary reasons.” Greetham follows this statement by stating the injury to Hall is not believed to be serious.

This would be excellent news for a defensive tackle who has suffered injuries that have sidelined him in both his rookie and sophomore seasons in the NFL. The Browns will rely on Hall Jr. as a rotational pass rusher and need him to stay healthy and contribute in year three of his career.

Hall Jr. slots in right behind 2025 fifth overall pick and veteran Maliek Collins, who is coming off of a season-ending injury himself. A healthy Hall would go a long way for the Browns’ defense, now led by new defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg.
