Former Browns’ center Ethan Pocic’s time in Cleveland is officially complete as he signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
Ethan Pocic’s tenure in Cleveland ended up being four full seasons, during which he became a centerpiece of the Browns’ offensive line that went through some peaks and valleys during his time. He took over the starting spot in 2022 when that O-Line was at the peak of its powers, as he was surrounded by Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller as the Browns ran the ball up and down on teams.
Pocic’s time in Cleveland ended late in 2025 when he tore his Achilles in the mid-December game against the Tennessee Titans. An injury that often has a very long and patient recovery process, the center has come through it unscathed and ready for the 2026 season.
His 2026 season is going to take place in Baltimore as he came to an agreement to a one-year contract with the Ravens as a paid tryout for what could be his final multiyear contract in the NFL.
For Pocic, this is a major opportunity for him to try and replace a player that the Browns were very interested in during the offseason. Their former center, Tyler Linderbaum, was largely regarded as the top center available in this year’s free agency. After signing with the Raiders on a record-breaking contract, the Ravens needed someone to fill that void. Pocic ended up being that someone.
For Cleveland, their next center is on their roster already. The perfect scenario would be if fifth-round pick Parker Brailsford could prove that he has what it takes to be an NFL-caliber center. If he does step up to the position, the Browns’ offensive line is going to be in a very good spot. If he doesn’t, then the Browns will go to Elgton Jenkins to man the position.
The former is preferred over the latter, but either way, the hope is that Cleveland will have a much-improved offensive line next season.
Ethan Pocic was very solid in his four seasons in Cleveland, and now, he gets his next opportunity with the Browns’ rival, the Baltimore Ravens.
