A 10-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a motor vehicle Friday morning on Ridge Road in Webster, according to the Webster Police Department.
Child struck while running into roadway
Police said officers responded around 10:30 a.m. May 1 to the area of 613 Ridge Road for a report of a child struck by a vehicle.
An investigation determined the vehicle was traveling west on Ridge Road when the boy ran into the roadway. The child suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Driver charged with vehicular assault
The driver, Joshua Dummer, 34, of Webster, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and vehicular assault in the first degree, along with additional traffic citations, police said. Dummer was transported to the Monroe County Jail for centralized arraignment.
The incident remains under investigation.
