Police have identified the victims killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Greenburgh, Thursday April 30.
Two of the residents were pronounced dead at the scene and the third later at a hospital, police said. They were identified as the owner, Robert Watson, 76; his daughter, Cherika Johnson, 50; and her son, Jaden Johnson.
What we know about the Greenburgh apparent murder-suicide
The double murder-suicide was discovered in the early afternoon of Thursday, April 30, when Greenburgh police patrol and EMS officers conducting a welfare check entered the house on Parkway Homes Road and found three people with gunshot wounds.
Police have not revealed any possible motive for the killings or identified what led police to conduct the welfare check.
“We have reason to believe that this was an isolated domestic violence incident, and we do not believe that there is any danger to the surrounding community or public,” police said in an initial news release hours after the bodies were found.
