Section V flag football in motion: The catches, flag pulls and celebrations

Section V flag football is growing fast.

What began as a non‑sanctioned pilot in New York in 2022 has quickly turned into one of the fastest‑growing high school sports in the state, officially recognized by the NYSPHSAA a year later and crowned with its first state champions in 2024. Section V programs have been at the heart of that surge, with Bishop Kearney and Webster Schroeder helping lead the way on the state stage.
