Rochester motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Canandaigua crash

A Rochester man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a motorcycle crash Friday afternoon in Canandaigua, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

The 67-year-old man was riding on Buffalo Street Extension when the crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 17, sheriff’s deputies said.

Driver flown to Strong Memorial Hospital

The motorcyclist was flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment of his injuries, deputies said.

Investigation ongoing

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

A portion of Buffalo Street Extension was closed while deputies investigated the scene but has since reopened.
