Man killed in Rochester hit-and-run: Police searching for driver

One man is dead following a hit-and-run crash late Friday night in Rochester.

According to police, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on August 15, 2025, on Broad Street near Jay Street. Several vehicles were traveling southbound when at least one struck a man who was in the roadway. The vehicle involved continued southbound on West Broad Street without stopping.

The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office will confirm his identity.

Investigators are working to determine the victim’s actions prior to the crash and whether speed or other factors contributed to the collision.
