Congratulations to Parker O’Steen of Hamilton Southeastern on winning player of the week for May 11 through May 16. O’Steen batted .545 (6-for-11) with two home runs, six RBIs and five runs scored. On the season, the senior is batting .349 with 10 doubles, 19 walks and 20 strikeouts.
Here were the top performers from sectionals.
Jackson Bixler, Hamilton Southeastern
Over two games, Bixler went 4-for-8 (.500) with three RBIs, three runs scored and two stolen bases.
Henry Cherry, Fishers
The freshman plated the winning run on a bases-loaded walk in a 12-inning sectional semifinal game against Westfield. Over two games, Cherry had one hit, one walk and three RBIs.
Isaiah Frank, Brebeuf Jesuit
The junior right-hander was light outs over two sectional starts. Frank threw a 13-strikeout no-hitter against Tri-West. In his next start, Frank allowed just one run over six innings against Guerin Catholic, striking out eight.
Drake McClurg, Center Grove
The Texas A&M commit hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning against Perry Meridian, lifting the Trojans to a 4-3 win. Over three games, McClurg batted .200 with two runs scored, two RBIs, one home run and one stolen base.
Spencer Mohr, Hamilton Southeastern
Mohr earned the win against Carmel, throwing 6⅔ innings, allowing no earned runs, walking four and striking out one.
Davis Moore, Zionsville
Moore earned two wins including the sectional championship clincher over Fishers. Across two starts, Moore allowed six hits and six earned runs over 9⅔ innings, striking out 12.
Jaden Norris, Sullivan
Norris went 7-for-12 (.583) with one double one home run, four RBIs and five runs scored. On the mound, Norris pitched 6⅓ scoreless innings against Barr-Reeve, allowing two hits with nine strikeouts.
Kooper Schmitt, Mooresville
Schmitt went the distance against Franklin Central, allowing just three hits and three walks over seven shutout innings, striking out 14.
Aiden Smith, Shelbyville
The Kentucky commit put together a dominant two-way performance during the sectional round. Smith earned the win against Beech Grove, allowing one hit over five innings, striking out 10. At the plate, Smith went 6-for-9 (.667) with three runs scored, two RBIs and three doubles.
Cy Street, North Central
Street helped North Central clinch the Class 4A Sectional 10 championship over Lawrence North. Street did not allow an earned run, allowing three hits and striking out seven.
Beckett Suh, University
The Tulane commit went 4-for-6 (.667) with two runs scored, two RBIs, one double and two stolen bases. The left-handed hitter drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning against Park Tudor.
Tate Troxell, Guerin Catholic
Over two games, the Alabama commit struck out 20 batters over 10 innings, allowing just one hit, four walks and zero earned runs.
Tristan Yerman, Center Grove
The senior catcher went 4-for-8 (.500) with two doubles, one home run and five RBIs.
Reid Zittel, Zionsville
Zittel hit a walk-off home run against Hamilton Southeastern. Over three games, Zittel went 3-for-7 (.428) with four runs scored, three RBIs and one home run.
