With the calendar turning to the final month of the school year, there’s still time to vote on Guthrie Athlete of the Week.

Here are eight candidates for events held from Saturday, May 23 until Friday, May 29. Vote below.

Nominees are from the coverage areas of the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin, Elmira Star-Gazette, Ithaca Journal and Corning Leader.

Delaney Abel, Corning golf: Abel won by six strokes at the Section 4 girls golf championships. She fired a 2-over-par 73 at Soaring Eagles Golf Course in Horseheads and earned a berth in the NYSPHSAA Championships, June 7 and 8 at Wild Wood Country Club in Rush.

Ronin Ault, Waverly baseball: Ault pitched a 3-hit shutout in a Game 1 win over Maine-Endwell in the Section 4 Class A finals, then gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits over the final 3 1/3 innings of the clinching victory in Game 3. He was 2-for-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs in the deciding contest.

Emma Bates, Ithaca girls lacrosse: Bates had 6 goals and an assist as the Little Red downed Corning in the Section 4 Class A championship game.

Logan DeMember, Elmira baseball: DeMember pitched a 1-hitter with 11 strikeouts and hit a 3-run double as the Express completed a sweep of Corning in the Section 4 Class AAA championship series.

Makenzie Lombardini, Chenango Valley/Johnson City girls lacrosse: Lombardini scored the winning goal in a 12-11 victory over Maine-Endwell in the Section 4 Class C final. She had 4 goals and 2 assists in the game.

Mason Markle, Horseheads baseball: Markle tossed a 5-hit shutout with 9 strikeouts as Horseheads beat Vestal in the deciding game of the Section 4 Class AA championship series.

CarLynn Sindlinger, Horseheads girls lacrosse: Sindlinger scored a career-high 8 goals and had 3 assists in a win over Vestal in the Section 4 Class B championship game.

Milo Wilson, Binghamton boys track & field: Wilson won the Section 4 Class A title in the high jump with a personal-best of 7 feet, which puts him in the top-25 nationally based on milesplit.com results. It also broke the Section 4 record of 6 feet, 10 inches held since 1990 by Moravia’s Bill Rhodes.
