GlassFest 2026, celebrating Corning’s internationally recognized glassmaking heritage, will take place on historic Market Street Memorial Day weekend.
Catherine Price, Executive Director of Corning’s Gaffer District, said the signature annual festival, which runs from May 22-24, features a full weekend of live entertainment, interactive experiences, family activities, and more than 130 artists, makers, and vendors lining Market Street.
“GlassFest is a true reflection of what makes Corning special,” Price said. “It brings together our history, our creative energy, and our community in a way that welcomes visitors while celebrating the people and businesses that make downtown thrive.”
GlassFest officially begins at noon Friday, May 22 with the Glass Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on the Centerway Square Stage, marking the start of a weekend dedicated to artistry, innovation, and community.
Price said throughout the festival, visitors can experience live hot glass demonstrations presented hourly by the Corning Museum of Glass on the Centerway Stage, along with additional glass demonstrations throughout Market Street.
Hands-on glass activities sponsored by ServU Credit Union will allow visitors of all ages to create their own glass artwork and contribute to a community glass mural.
GlassFest, presented by Chemung Canal Trust Company, will also feature juried artist showcases and artists and makers market featuring glass art, fine art, and handcrafted goods.
“GlassFest is always an exciting way to kick off the summer season in the downtown,” said City Manager Mark Ryckman. “Thank you to the staff at the Gaffer District for all of their hard work.”

Price said visitors can shop from the 130-plus artisan vendors, participate in interactive glass experiences and demonstrations, watch street performers, cultural dances, and family-friendly programming, join community fitness activities and walking tours.
On Sunday a Memorial Day Service will take place in coordination with the American Legion honoring those who have served. Corning Mayor Pam Walker will recognize those who gave everything in service, and the Corning Community Concert Band will be performing.
“GlassFest is a great way for us to showcase some of the things that are special about the City of Corning,” Walker said. “Like our fabulous downtown and our deep roots in the glass arts community. So, I look forward to being a part of this, this year and going forward.”
