Airline travel continues to bumpy for an assortment of reasons these days, including rising ticket prices due to soaring fuel prices caused by the war with Iran and airlines folding up, like Spirit Airlines did last week.
The fallout from Spirits’ bankruptcy continues as fliers look for new options and other airlines step in to fill some the gaps with routes.
One of the airlines, Breeze Airways has added four routes from Atlantic City International Airport (ACY), more than doubling its nonstop destinations. One will serve Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers.
Over the past three months, Spirit averaged about five departures and arrivals per day and served Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Fort Meyers, West Palm Beach in Florida and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Starting Oct. 22, Breeze will offer a nonstop option to RSW in Fort Myers on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays
