The New York Giants will hopefully be turning the page on their losing ways in 2026, playing a schedule that should be more favorable to them than that of last season, when they went 4-13.
One of the more interesting matchups on the schedule comes in Week 12, when the Giants head out to Indianapolis to face old friend Daniel Jones and the Colts.
It is being called a “revenge” game, but few might see it that way. Greg Auman of FOX Sports listed it as one of his top 10 revenge games this season, nonetheless.
The New York Giants’ only playoff win in the last 14 seasons came with Daniel Jones at quarterback, leading them to a nine-win season in 2022. That got him a massive four-year, $160 million contract, and Jones went 3-13 as a starter in 2023-24 before he was cut loose. He found himself with the Colts last year before tearing his Achilles tendon. Both of these teams have aspirations of improving in 2026, so Jones vs. Jaxson Dart on Thanksgiving weekend is quite the side dish.
Revenge for whom is the question. The Giants have put Jones in their rearview mirror ever since they drafted Jaxson Dart last April. Jones is on his second team since negotiating his release from Big Blue in November of 2024, and there’s been little or no ill will since.
The Giants are under new management, too. The only offensive coach who was here for Jones’ tenure was tight ends coach Tim Kelly, and only for half a season in 2024. There’s no one carrying a torch for or has any animosity toward him in this building any longer.
Another twist to this story is whether Jones will be healthy in Week 12. Not that we’re jinxing him, but Jones has a history of injuries, and he is coming off an Achilles that ended his season after 13 games last year.
