Count Torry Holt among those who think Cincinnati Bengals wideout Ja’Marr Chase is headed for a massive season.
During an appearance on Kay Adams’ latest show, Holt was asked if there’s a wideout in the NFL who could finally pass Calvin Johnson’s 1,946 yards from the 2012 season.
Chase made Adams’ list and he wound up as Holt’s No. 1 pick.
“If I had to guess,” Holt said, “with a healthy Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase I think will be first…probably scratch the surface of what Calvin Johnson was able to do.”
Chase has talked in the past about the 2,000-yard mark. He got within striking distance back in 2024 over 17 games, catching 127 passes for 1,708 yards and 17 scores.
Adams’ list was a staggering one in terms of talent in the NFL right now, but there’s little debate around Chase being the best in the NFL. And considering he’s smashed every other goal he’s publicly stated before, it’s probably best to take him at his word about this one, too.
