Former Hudson River Psychiatric Center ablaze in structure fire

A structure fire broke out at the former Hudson River Psychiatric Center on the afternoon of June 3, according to a Facebook post by the Dutchess County Fire and Rescue Services.

The fire service reported multiple buildings were on fire, and the blaze potentially began in the old Avery Building.

The former Hudson River Psychiatric Center is located off of Hudson View Drive, nearby the Hudson Heritage Plaza off of Winslow Gate Road and across from Marist University.

Multiple fire departments responded to the scene from Dutchess County, as well as an Ulster County fire department and Dutchess County coordinators.
