New York Giants WR Odell Beckham: 'Going out on my sword'

The New York Giants added three veteran wide receivers on Monday, a move that shocked many.

Among them was former Giants star Odell Beckham Jr., who finds himself back in New York for the first time since 2018. The veteran signed a one-year deal with the Giants and could prove to be a reliable receiver this season despite not playing in 2025.

New York also signed veterans Braxton Berrios and JuJu Smith-Schuster. The Giants will need to make a few cuts at the position following training camp, and Beckham was recently asked about the possibility of being cut later this summer.

“I’m going out on my sword either way,” he said. “I can live with it.”

Beckham is widely regarded as one of the best wide receivers in Giants history. New York originally selected him with the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft, and the route runner instantly established himself as a star during his rookie campaign with the team.

Beckham will need to perform at a high level to secure a roster spot in August, but the veteran appears ready and has proven time and again that he thrives in the face of adversity.
