As the first big reveal of Iowa women’s basketball’s 2026-27 schedule, the program announced a home-and-home series against national powerhouse UConn, which will pit the Hawkeyes and Huskies against one another over the next two seasons.
According to the news release, UConn will host Iowa in a non-conference game in Connecticut during the upcoming 2026-27 season, while the Hawkeyes will host UConn at Carver-Hawkeye Arena during the 2027-28 season.
Per UConn’s press release, the Huskies announced they will host Iowa on Sunday, Nov. 8. Iowa revealed next season’s game will be played in either Gampel Pavillion or Peoples Bank Arena. Tip time and TV designation for next season will be announced at a later date.
UConn’s eventual trip to Iowa City will be the first time the Hawkeyes have welcomed the Huskies inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena since a 73-45 Iowa loss in the final season of then-Hawkeyes head coach Angie Lee.
The Huskies hold an all-time 7-4 series lead over the Hawkeyes, which was expanded last season with a 90-64 win over then-No. 12 Iowa on Dec. 20, 2025, in Brooklyn, N.Y., at the Women’s Champions Classic.
Iowa last defeated UConn, 71-69, in the Final Four on April 5, 2024. That game sent the program to its second-consecutive national championship game, marked Caitlin Clark’s last victory as a Hawkeye, and Lisa Bluder’s last win as Iowa’s head coach before her surprise May 2024 retirement.
