That would be Iowa’s only run of the game as the Boilermakers pounded out 10 hits and scored eight unanswered runs.

Kellen Strohmeyer was 3-for-3 at the plate for Iowa. Caleb Wulf had two hits for the Hawkeyes.

Five Iowa pitchers tried to shut down No. 5 seed Purdue, which advanced to the single-elimination stage of the tournament to face UCLA.

The No. 8 seed Hawkeyes fell to 33-23.
