Indiana Fever vs. Storm stats: Caitlin Clark points, box score

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever (2-2) rebound from a tightly contested overtime loss on Friday night with a wire-to-wire 89-78 victory over the Seattle Storm (1-3) this evening from Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Clark continued her efficient offensive start to the season by recording her first double-double of the year through 21 points scored on 5-for-10 from the field, 2-for-4 from 3-point land, and 9-for-9 at the free-throw line, along with 10 assists, seven rebounds, and two blocks in an efficient 24 minutes of play.

Defensively, Indiana played much better tonight, holding Seattle to just 36% from the floor, and responded offensively when the Storm made their strong scoring push in the second quarter.

Up next for Clark and the Fever will be Wednesday night, when they face fellow former Hawkeye legend Megan Gustafson and the newly formed Portland Fire (1-2) in their inaugural meeting at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Behind a double-double from Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever pick up their first home win of the season and improve to an even 2-2 overall record.

Storm called a timeout after a few defensive breakdowns had allowed the Fever to expand their lead to 14 points, capped by a wide-open transition 3-pointer for Kelsey Mitchell.

At halftime, Indiana leads Seattle by a 55-44 advantage, as the Fever continues to score in bunches to close out the first half of the game.

At the end of the first quarter, the Fever lead by a 32-19 advantage. Clark posted eight points on 2-for-3 from the field, 2-for-3 from 3-point land, and 2-for-2 at the free-throw line, along with three assists in six minutes of play.

Indiana’s offense is humming right now, and its defensive presence is much more aggressive to start this game.

With 5:23 left in the first quarter, an uncontested corner 3-pointer by Caitlin Clark forces the Storm to take an early timeout.

Fever lead 13-7, with Clark contributing three points on 1-for-1 shooting, along with three assists in four minutes of play.

After the league corrected its statistical miscue from Friday’s game against Washington, Caitlin Clark is the new record-holder for most games with at least 20 points and at least 10 assists, with 11 so far in her career.

Aliyah Boston ruled out vs. Storm

After initially being ruled questionable for today’s game, the Fever have officially ruled center Aliyah Boston out with a lower leg injury suffered on May 15.

Boston will miss the first game of her WNBA career, after playing in all 137 games (regular season and playoffs) before today.
