A Des Moines high school was temporarily evacuated as police investigated a bomb threat.
The threat targeting North High School was phoned in around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, according to a news release from Des Moines Police Department spokesperson Paul Parizek.
Officers searched the building on 501 Holcomb Ave. after students and staff were evacuated “out of an abundance of caution,” police said.
No suspicious device was found. Investigators said they believe the call originated from out of state.
Officers are still at the scene at the time of the news release, and detectives are continuing to investigate.
