REDKEY, IN — A Redkey woman faces several drug-dealing allegations — again.
Jamie Randell Johnson, 46, on Thursday, June 4, was charged in Jay Circuit Court with two counts of dealing in meth, dealing in a narcotic drug, maintaining a common nuisance, unlawful possession of a syringe, dealing in marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
Three of the dealing charges are Level 2 felonies carrying up to 30 years in prison.
According to an affidavit, another local woman was pulled over by Redkey police on Wednesday after she crossed the center line while driving on Indiana 67.
The woman was determined to have meth in her possession, and she reportedly said she had recently bought 28 grams of the drug from Johnson.
Johnson was then arrested after Redkey and Dunkirk police and Jay County sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at her home in the 100 block of North Ash Street. She was taken to the Jay County Jail in Portland.
Investigators reported finding 5 grams of meth, 7.2 grams of fentanyl, and a small amount of marijuana in the house, along with paraphernalia including syringes, a set of digital scales, several smoking devices and numerous plastic bags.
Johnson was also arrested in February, when she was charged in Jay Circuit Court with dealing in meth, dealing in a narcotic drug, dealing in cocaine, maintaining a common nuisance, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
A trial date has not yet been set in that case.
Jay County Prosecutor Wes Schemenaur’s office has also filed documents seeking to have Johnson declared a habitual offender.
A former Richmond resident, Johnson has been convicted of crimes including dealing in a narcotic drug, dealing in meth, maintaining a common nuisance and forgery.
