See which Richmond-area restaurants were cited after inspections

RICHMOND, IN — Here are the most recent Wayne County Health Department food establishment inspections that found violations, as of May 27.

El Trebol Mexican Market, 1625 E. Main St., Richmond, cited for no hand soap provided to employee restroom hand sink; covered receptable not provided to all-gender restroom; employee restroom door is not self-closing; basement room where grease trap is located is soiled and in need of cleaning.

El Bronco, 2515 Chester Blvd., Richmond, was cited for a steel pan containing raw chicken stored over a tub of pico de gallo in the walk-in cooler; paper towels were not provided at second-floor employee restroom; a covered waste receptable was not provided to employee restroom; and no sign notifying employees to wash their hands was in the employee restroom.

Dale’s Pizza, 75 W. Main St., Hagerstown, was cited for employee preparing food seen chewing gum; employee preparing food was wearing fingernail polish; multiple employees preparing food were observed wearing bracelets; and probe-type thermometer is not able to measure temperatures below 120F.

The Down Under, 200 S. 9th St., Richmond, was cited for items stored on the floor in front of the kitchen hand sink; and spring on men’s restroom door not being attached to make door self-closing.

Great Wall, 1390 National Road W., Richmond, was cited for employee restrooms not having hand-washing signs; large blue tub containing raw chicken is chipping and no longer easily cleanable; and outside dumpsters are sitting on bare ground rather than on a smooth, durable material sloped to drain.

Lee’s Famous Recipe, 2410 National Road W., Richmond, was cited for floor in ware-washing area chipped and non-smooth, making it difficult to keep clean; mop stored in soiled mop bucket when not in use rather than being hung to dry; dry storage area floor heavily soiled with soda syrup.

Carlo’s Cuisine, 130 NW 5th St., Richmond, was cited for shelving above food prep station soiled with dust and debris.

Lakeview Restaurant, 1219 W. National Road, Cambridge City, was cited for outside receptacles observed on gravel; and 13 salmon filets observed thawed in reduced oxygen packaging.

El Mezcal Grill, 408 E. Main St., Cambridge City, was cited for no test kit on site; and kitchen soiled and in need of cleaning.

Little Caesar’s/Apple Dough, 1503 E. Main St., Richmond, was cited for dust/debris seen above pizza oven on ceiling and suspension rods attached to ceiling.

Wings and Rings, 500 Commerce Road, Richmond, was cited for fan guards in walk-in dirty and in need of cleaning.

Generations Grill and Sports Bar, 1500 N. E St., Richmond, was cited for ice machine seen dirty and in need of cleaning.

Arby’s, 1534 N. Indiana 1, Cambridge City, was cited for several violations, including no thermometer in the walk-in cooler; two employees seen working with exposed food without hair restraints; food debris seen on reach-in freezer and fire extinguisher; reach-in freezer in need of repair; hand sink in need of repair; and pipe leaking in walk-in cooler with water pooled under shelves storing food.

Richmond Village Mart, 500 W. Main St., Richmond, was cited for five violations including no employee health and vomit policies; no test strips or sanitizer; and floors, walls and ceilings in need of cleaning.

By Hand and Fork, 1400 National Road W., Richmond, was cited with five violations including dish machine sanitizer concentration too low; no certified food manager; and no hand-washing signage at hand sink.

Tiffin Indian-American Restaurant, 1480 N. Indiana 1, Cambridge City, was cited with three violations including hand can opener heavily soiled with food/debris; and bags of onions stored on the floor.

Galo’s Italian Restaurant, 107 Garwood Road, Richmond, was cited with the hot water sanitizing dish machine did not reach 180 degrees.

Gulzar’s Indian Cuisine, 4712 National Road E., Richmond, was cited with 10 violations, including an employee using bare hands placing a garnish on food; ice scoop stored on a soiled surface; and can opener was soiled with dried food debris.
