The NFL is counting down the top 100 catches from the 2025 season, and making an appearance at No. 51 were the Indianapolis Colts.
The throw came from Daniel Jones and was completed to Josh Downs in the Colts’ Week 13 matchup against the Houston Texans.
With six minutes left in the third quarter, the Colts were down 13-6 and faced a 3rd-and-10 from their own 20-yard line. Jones was lined up in shotgun with Jonathan Taylor to his right and four pass-catchers on the field.
Jones took the snap, looked left, and held the ball, allowing the longer developing route to unfold. He then threw it to the left sideline, where Downs was angling towards.
With some separation from the defender, Jones dropped the pass in a bucket, with Downs managing to get both feet in before falling out of bounds.
With the addition of Tyler Warren last season, Downs saw fewer opportunities, but he remained a reliable target for Daniel Jones. More opportunities should be coming Downs’ way in 2026.
