Cardinal Spirits has 19 new summer cocktails and mocktails at its distillery at 922 S. Morton St. Patrons can choose from bubbly patio sippers, seasonal favorites that contain summer ingredients or something new.
Some of the new drinks include: Screen Door, an herbaceous and bright patio sipper made with peach tea infused Terra Botanical Gin, white peach, lavender, mint, basil, lemon soda water; Avery Island, a tart and spicy cocktail made with green apple infused Bramble Black Raspberry Vodka, Standard Dry Gin, yuzu kosho, tamari, lemon and tabasco; Growing Sideways, a mellow and earthy drink made with dill infused Standard Dry Gin, cherry tomato, housemade tonic, lemon, black pepper and egg white; and Outskirts of Paradise, and funky and fresh made with cotija washed Lake House Spiced Rum, pineapple, cilantro and lime.
Patrons will also have some of Cardinal Spirit’s traditional favorites, including its Old Fashioned, which is always on the menu.
Popkorn with A Twist opening in new location
Anyone walking or driving on South College Avenue downtown may have noticed that Popkorn With a Twist is no longer at 200 S. College Ave. That’s because the shop is in the process of being moved to 421 E. Third St., Suite 7, in Colestone Square.
The South College Avenue shop closed June 17 and the move into the new location is expected to be complete by July 7, the anticipated opening of the new store.
Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers offers new 5 cream soda flavors
Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers recently launched five Custard cream soda flavors. Freddy’s also has three tea and lemonade flavors its added to the menu.
The custard cream sodas are: Golden Hour Orange Custard Cream Soda with Starry soda blended with candied orange and topped with custard cream; Peach Peach Baby Custard Cream Soda with Starry blended with peach and topped with custard cream; Coco Loco Custard Cream Soda with Dr Pepper blended with coconut and topped with custard cream; Blue Rizzberry Custard Cream Soda with Starry blended with blue raspberry syrup and topped with custard cream; and Mango Magic Custard Cream Soda with Starry blended with mango and topped with custard cream.
New teas and lemonades are: Peachy Keen Tea or Lemonade, made with iced tea or Tropicana lemonade blended with peach; Strawberry Sunset Tea or Lemonade, with iced tea or Tropicana lemonade blended with strawberry; and Mango Sunrise Tea or Lemonade with iced tea or Tropicana lemonade blended with mango.
Freddy’s location in Bloomington is at 3307 W. Third St. in Whiteland Plaza.
Update on Chick-fil-A sites
The two locations for Chick-fil-A on Bloomington’s east side are both open now. Renovations to the 3020 E. Third St. location are complete, with a new express lane option for customers. The restaurant closed in May for several weeks. The College Mall site also is open.
Signs at 2500 W. Third St. state that another Chick-fil-A restaurant will be constructed there, at the former Cozy Table location. Look for more information in future columns.
