President Donald Trump took to social media this weekend to lob yet more attacks at Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker over his weight.
Trump, in a Truth Social post made on Saturday, posted an AI-generated photo of Illinois’ Democratic governor eating from a table of food with the caption “JB is too busy to keep Chicago safe!”
The image shows Pritzker at a table with a double cheeseburger in one hand and a slice of pizza in the other. On the table in front of him is a buffet of other foods, including a “jumbo-sized” bucket of fried chicken, a large bowl of nachos, spaghetti and meatballs, a milkshake and a chili dog.
Pritzker’s name has been frequently floated as a potential candidate for president in 2028, thrusting him into the national spotlight. His feud with Trump, too, has been ongoing and stems from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s controversial presence in the Chicago area.
Pritzker had not commented on Trump’s latest attack on his weight as of publication of this article Monday morning.
Saturday’s Truth Social mocking was not the first time Trump has taken a jab at Pritzker’s weight. Last November, Trump called Pritzker a “Big, fat slob” during the White House turkey pardoning ceremony.
The Republican party itself joined in on prodding Pritzker over his weight in February when it made a Valentine’s Day post on social media using an AI photo of Pritzker eating from a table of junk food.
Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey denounced the February post, saying attacking someone over their weight was “unnecessary, unproductive, and has no place in our politics.”
