Here is a look at the latest individuals in the running to be voted the Lansing State Journal boys high school athlete of the week.
Voting is open until noon Wednesday, May 13 to determine a winner, who will be featured in the LSJ.

Max McCallister, Bath boys golf
The junior had a pair of medalist finishes while helping the Bees take the lead in the CMAC standings. He was the medalist with a round of 38 at College Fields in a win over Lansing Christian on May 6 and followed by earning medalist honors by shooting a 37 in a win over Laingsburg at Timber Ridge. McCallister also tied for third and fired a 78 at the Blue Devil Open in Gaylord.
Brett Palmer, Williamston baseball
The senior pitcher allowed just one hit and struck out 10 over 6 1/3 innings for the Hornets while earning the opening pitching win in their CAAC Red sweep of St. Johns. The pitching victory was the 20th of the career for Palmer, who also last month also surpassed 200 career strikeouts.
Leland VanAlstine, Lansing Catholic track and field
The senior was a triple individual winner at the CAAC White meet. He won the 200 with a personal-best time of 22.64 seconds, the 110 hurdles in 14.52 seconds and the 300 hurdles with a season-best mark of 39.75 seconds. His success helped Lansing Catholic finish with 157 points and win the meet by 12 points.
