See which Eureka employees had the highest salaries in 2025

Eureka’s highest-paid employees span a variety of roles, from administrative and public works to law enforcement positions.

Eureka’s annual compensation report for 2025 details how much city employees receive, breaking the list up by annual pay, health insurance, uniform allowance and phone allowance. Not all employees receive money for uniforms and phone costs.

Here are the top 10 highest-paid city roles in Eureka, listed by salary:

1. Melissa Brown, city services coordinator

As city services coordinator, Brown assists the city with special projects, coordinates activities with department staff and monitors projects. Her salary is listed as $101,858, according to the compensation report.

2. Pete Logan, public works supervisor

Public works supervisors provide direction and planning for daily public works operations and maintenance. His salary is listed as $88,417, according to the compensation report.

3. Cary Naas, wastewater superintendent

Wastewater superintendents like Naas review data for efficiency and compliance, performs technical work and directs workers in water and sewer repair and maintenance. Naas’ salary is listed as $85,929, according to the compensation report.

4. Alex Collinge, chief of police

In his work as police chief, Collinge oversees the activities of the police departments, providing administrative and operational knowledge and coordinating department programs. Collinge’s salary is listed as $85,769, according to the compensation report.

5. Brad Marshall, water superintendent

As water superintendent, Marshall oversees water utilities and ensures water supply systems work safely and efficiently. Marshall’s salary is listed as $85,731, according to the compensation report.

6. Erik Hasselbacher, public works director

Public works directors like Hasselbacher are responsible for managing the public works department and overseeing projects and operations. Hasselbacher’s salary is listed as $83,319, according to the compensation report.

7. Andrew Burgess, police officer
