Peoria man whose death was labeled 'suspicious' has been identified

The Peoria County Coroner’s Office has identified a 41-year-old man as the person found dead in a home in the East Bluff on Monday. The death is being investigated as suspicious by Peoria police.

David L. King of Peoria was found dead Monday at his home in the 500 block of East Seneca Place by Peoria police officers, who were responding to a welfare check at the residence. Coroner Jamie Harwood said that King was obviously dead when officers found him and had sustained “perpetrated” injuries that led to a homicide investigation by Peoria police.

Harwood said that autopsy findings are still pending at this time, with police’s investigation into King’s death still ongoing, as well.
