Peoria Dream Center girls win flag football championship

BLOOMINGTON — The Cowboys beat the Bears on Sunday. At least they did in the I-74 Girls Flag Football Showdown.

A team of eight middle-school girls from Peoria’s Dream Center, which plays in the Peoria Park District’s NFL flag football league, traveled to Tucci Stadium on the Illinois Wesleyan campus.

They took on a Bloomington-Normal team called the Monsters of the Midway Bears, who were part of the Sports4Life Athletics program, and and dominated them, 36-6, for the 2025 league championship.

The team finished a perfect season at 7-0 under coach by Jojo Winters, who is co-youth director/trades director at Dream Center.

His eight players, all from Peoria, included: Navaya Porter, Lyriq Pace, La’Tasha Mosee, Kimajah Williams, Tiffany Marshall, Ja’Lisa Alexander, Ki’ah Lowe and Kree Allen.
