Juvenile arrested in Rockford building fire, second arrest expected

ROCKFORD, IL — Rockford Fire Department arson investigators have arrested a juvenile and are pursuring a second arrest in connection with a May 3 fire that destroyed a 2,900-square-foot commercial storage building at 509 15th Avenue.

Arson Investigators have conducted an origin and cause investigation, interviewed witnesses and pursued additional leads, identifying multiple suspects, a news release said.

Prosecutors with the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized charges leading to one arrest and a second arrest is pending.
