Who does Florida softball play in super regional, and where?

Florida softball is off to Super Regionals for the third year in a row.

The Gators clinched a spot in the round before the Women’s College World Series for the 17th time in program history with a 5-2 victory over Georgia Tech to win the NCAA Gainesville Regional for their 22nd consecutive regional win.

UF hasn’t lost a regional game since 2017 and swept the weekend for the seventh consecutive time at home.

But that’s in the past. Florida waited a few hours for its opponent to be determined, but now the matchup is set.

Who will Florida softball play in the 2026 NCAA Super Regionals?

The No. 6 seeded Gators will host the Gainesville Super Regional vs. No. 11 Texas Tech at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

The two squads have played four times in history — twice in 1998 and 2009. Florida won all four games.

The Red Raiders won the Lubbock Regional in a sweep, but it didn’t seem that way Saturday evening. TTU trailed 8-0 to Ole Miss in the seventh inning of the winners bracket, but Tech registered a furious (and historic) comeback to defeat the Rebels 10-9 in eight innings. The two met Sunday again, and Texas Tech rolled past a defeated UM squad 14-2 in five innings.

Texas Tech advanced to Game 3 of the championship series in the 2025 WCWS. After adding numerous top players from the transfer portal, including UF second baseman Mia Williams, the Red Raiders expected to be a top contender for a national title.

However, some losses near the end of the season and a weak strength of schedule cost the Red Raiders a top eight seed. Yet, they remain as potent of a force as ever — led by national player of the year NiJaree Canady.
