'Majestic': David Bakhtiari on Packers shotgunning beers with Luke Combs

Inside the stadium where they thrill fans for their football skills on the field, several members of the Green Bay Packers took on a new role over the weekend.

They thrilled fans on a concert stage by shotgunning beers with one of the biggest country music artists.

And it wasn’t just one night or just the players who joined Luke Combs for some celebratory beer chugging during his concerts at Lambeau Field May 15-16.

Head coach Matt LaFleur even joined in on Night 2, along with players Tucker Kraft, Lukas Van Ness, Josh Jacobs, Edgerrin Cooper and Evan Williams.

Players traded in their pads for flannel and cowboy hats and boots all weekend as they had the kind of Friday and Saturday nights that are to remember. And they showed that beer never broke their hearts.

Former Green Bay Packers All-Pro left tackle – and professional beer chugger – David Bakhtiari wasn’t part of the shotgunning antics, but he co-signed all the activities that took place.

“Majestic. 69 approves,” Bakhtiari wrote in the caption of an Instagram post from the Packers and Lambeau Field that shared several photos from the second night, leading off with an image of LaFleur, Cooper and Williams shotgunning their beers.

The team and stadium Instagram accounts captioned the post:

“Guys being dudes. You’re welcome at Lambeau anytime, Luke Combs.”

The guys weren’t the only ones who enjoyed the weekend. Many of their significant others also attended at the concerts and had the time of their lives.

Evan Williams’ girlfriend, Dayanara Herrera, chronicled her day with a series of TikToks from start to finish.

And she showed Williams and Co. doing some pre-gaming to prep for their moment on stage.

In another TikTok, Kraft yelled to the camera from where they were watching the concert: “You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.”

The Packers’ tight end likely had a few shots on this night but that made his moment on stage all the better.

He shotgunned three beers and even punted a can to the crowd for good measure. It sure seems like the torn ACL he suffered last season is doing much better.

Here were the concert fits for Williams and Herrera.

Herrera was still on a high from the night before when she posted a clip from the concert on May 16: “I don’t think I could ever recover from this. WHAT A NIGHT!!”

Kraft’s wife, Baylee, took in the night with the Packers’ star tight end as well. She shared a series of photos from the night on her Instagram:

Luke Combs Friday night with the Packers

On Friday night, five other current or former Packers players had the honor of joining Combs on stage. These included running back AJ Dillon, who played for the Packers from 2020-24, and offensive linemen Sean Rhyan, Anthony Belton, Aaron Banks and Jordan Morgan.

Combs wrote on Instagram: “Cheeseheads, whatcha say we shotgun one?” He thanked Dillon and the Packers’ offensive linemen for joining him on stage.

Dillon’s wife, Gabrielle, wrote on Instagram that she “was not expecting my husband to chug a beer with Luke Combs today.”

But as Gabrielle mentioned in her caption, Dillon going on stage at country concerts is becoming the norm. He joined Zach Bryan on stage when the country star played at Fiserv Forum in March 2024.
