What might Parker Washington extension look like? Jaguars insider weighs in

Presumably next in line for a contract extension with the Jacksonville Jaguars is wide receiver Parker Washington. But what might that deal look like?

ESPN’s Jaguars beat reporter, Michael DiRocco, recently provided some insight.

“Receiver Parker Washington is next in line for a contract extension with the Jaguars,” DiRocco said. “What could a potential deal look like? Washington stepped up big time last year after injuries to Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr., and responded with a career year — 58 catches, 707 yards, and five touchdowns. He also had two punt return touchdowns. There are currently seven receivers in the NFL making between $16 and $18 million, and Washington seems to fit into that group that includes a guy like Jayden Reed, who’s making $16.75 million. So maybe an $18 million annual salary. Three years, $53 million, between $25 and $30 million guaranteed, could be an area that the Jaguars and Washington find an agreement.”

As DiRocco mentioned, the 2025 season was a breakout year for Washington. Along with his overall production, he became a go-to target for Trevor Lawrence and finished the season eclipsing the 100-yard receiving mark in three of the Jaguars’ final four games.

DiRocco has also previously reported that shortly after the 2025 season ended, the Jaguars had “preliminary discussions” with Washington about an extension.

Getting a deal done with Washington certainly feels like just a matter of when. That said, there probably isn’t a firm deadline in place right now either. James Gladstone has shown he’s more than willing to negotiate in-season, so there is still time for something to manifest.
