It is time to vote for the PuroClean of Melbourne Boys Athlete of the Week at 321preps.com and floridatoday.com.
The following athletes were nominated for their performances from Sept. 22-27. You will find the ballot at the bottom of the page. Be sure to refresh if the poll isn’t visible upon first loading. Voting will be open until noon on Thursday, Oct. 2. Votes are restricted to once per device per hour.
The last winner was Jonas Dowdell of Edgewood cross country. Find a list of the 2025-26 winners at the bottom.
Coaches and athletic directors are invited to nominate athletes each week. E-mail the athlete’s accomplishments for the previous Monday through Saturday to Prepscores@floridatoday.com by 10 a.m. each Sunday.
Here are this week’s nominees:
Ian Baxter, Melbourne Central Catholic swimming
Baxter placed first in the 100 backstroke, 200 IM, and he swam on two winning relays for the Hustlers on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Tristan Ellis, Eau Gallie bowling
Ellis bowled a game of 263 at Shore Lanes Palm Bay on Thursday, Sept. 25.
Sam Heath, Titusville swimming
Heath won the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and 50 freestyle at a meet against Space Coast. Heath also placed first in the same three events at a meet against Harmony.
Kevin Verpaele, Merritt Island football
Verpaele threw for 363 yards and six touchdowns in Merritt Island’s win over Ed White on Sept. 26.
Logan Waite, Satellite football
Waite scored two rushing touchdowns and caught one touchdown pass in the Scorpions’ win over Palm Bay on Sept. 26.
