The Miami Dolphins moved around in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft, as they trades pick No. 11 to the Dallas Cowboys for Nos. 12, 177 and 180. They also traded pick Nos. 30 and 90 to the San Francisco 49ers for Nos. 27 and 138.
Eventually, Miami used their two first-round picks on Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor and San Diego State cornerback Chris Johnson, filling two of their biggest holes.
As the Dolphins enter Day 2, they still have plenty of needs to address. Using Pro Football Focus’ mock draft simulator, let’s run a mock for the second and third round and see who Miami ends up with. We’ll also provide the draft profile for each player from NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein.
Round 2, Pick 43: EDGE Zion Young, Missouri
“Long, well-built edge rusher with the size, strength and temperament engineered for trench battles at the next level,” Zierlein wrote. “Young is a fiery alpha who brings immense energy to the field and locker room. He majors in block destruction using base power and aggression to play through opponents. He extends and locks out as an edge-setter and sheds when needed, but his pursuit speed and range are average. He has the power to bull rush or drive through edges, but lacks instincts and variety in his rush approach. His NFL pressure production will lag behind without better go-to moves and counters. Young’s physical tools and rugged demeanor give him a chance to be an instant run-stopping upgrade with average rush.”
Round 3, Pick 75: WR Elijah Sarratt, Indiana
“Big receiver whose competitiveness and elite catch-phase execution allow him to overcome his athletic limitations,” Zierlein wrote. “While he’s nicknamed ‘Waffle House’ because he’s said to be ‘always open,’ Sarratt sees a high number of contested targets versus man coverage. He’s tight-hipped with below-average foot quickness and falls below the line as a separator. Once the throw goes up, however, he consistently beats corners with size, body control and catch-space strength to clean up. He’ll face press matchups that leave his catch column dry, but he’s built and wired for possession targets over the first two levels.”
Round 3, Pick 87: WR Ted Hurst, Georgia State
“Long-legged, vertical-minded wideout with the speed and ability to stress corners from snap to whistle,” Zierlein wrote. “Hurst is quick to beat press and hit the accelerator into his route work. He has the hips, feet and balance to run a more robust route tree than what we saw from him in college. He’s an above-average ball-tracker deep and a dangerous catch-and-run option. The hands are average and he needs to become more assertive on 50/50 balls on all three levels. Hurst appears capable of surviving the jump in competition and projects as a ‘Z’ receiver with quality upside.”
Round 3, Pick 94: CB Devin Moore, Florida
“Moore is a long outside cornerback with good size but limited experience due to injuries,” Zierlein said. “His size and length benefit him from press. He plays with adequate eye balance as a short-zone defender. Moore is a good deep-ball tracker who tilts jump balls in his favor, but he lacks make-up speed to run down coverage mistakes. He’s upright with sluggish hips in transitions and is missing the foot quickness/acceleration to stay connected with quicker route-runners. Improved anticipation and decisiveness should come with more snaps but durability concerns could hurt his draft stock.”
