With the playoffs looming for spring sports, we have another talented crop of area stars bidding for Florida Power & Light Athlete of the Week.
Last week Jack Marracco, batting a team-leading .452 with 29 RBIs and 23 runs and sporting a 6-1 record on the mound with a 3.61 ERA, joined a list of former winners that includes Niceville’s Ryder Hodgkinson, Shelby Plasier, Chloe Bailey, CJ Bolden, Delaney Diehl, Abbey Kuritz, Camrin Pearson, Teray Geiger and Jakobe Gilyard; Fort Walton Beach’s Macy Borgen, Eric Stouder, Brian Velazquez, Sawyer Downs and Diandre Mayes; South Walton’s AK Wickman, Connor Rooney and Maci Jones; Paxton’s Borgesen, Cade Stewart and Kenzie Lassiter; Choctaw’s Camry Johnson, Carter Marracco, Tamen Zabetakis and Jordan Figueroa; Navarre’s Maleeya Brammer; Walton’s Kaden Fuentes and Whitton West; Baker’s Wyatt Straight, Crestview’s Manwell Robinson and Trey Hardman; and Freeport’s Emily Doi. Who’ll follow his lead? That’s for you to decide.

Athlete of the Week Nominees
Deacon Avery, Niceville: The senior helped the Eagles finish off the season with back-to-back wins, going 3-for-4 with eight RBIs, five runs, two doubles, a home run and a walk for the 18-7 Eagles.
Coleman Borthwick, South Walton: The senior All-American no-hit Holmes County in a nine-strikeout perfect game and went a combined 4-for-5 with three RBIs, three runs and a home run during a 2-0 week for the 21-4 Seahawks.
Trevor Camden, Choctawhatchee: The junior drove in five and went yard along with shutting down McCracken County with six innings of three-hit ball, striking out four for the win in a 3-0 week for the 20-5 Big Green.
Palmer Robbins, Destin: The senior went a combined 3-for-6 with four runs, four RBIs, two walks, a stolen base and a home run and also struck out the side in relief during a 2-0 week for the 15-6 Sharks.
Breanna Williams, FWB: The sophomore helped the Vikings finish the week off with two straight wins, going 4-for-7 with three runs, three RBIs, a triple and a home run.
