Florida State has built one of the richest traditions in college football history, and that legacy continues to be reflected at the highest level of the sport. One of the league’s most anticipated offseason honors is the annual NFL Top 100, a ranking determined by current players that highlights the game’s most respected stars. Two former Florida State standouts have already secured places on the NFL’s annual Top 100 list for 2026.
Jalen Ramsey was revealed at No. 82, and Josh Sweat followed at No. 79, giving Florida State a pair of representatives in the early portion of the player-voted countdown. The honor marks Sweat’s second career appearance on the NFL Top 100, while Ramsey earned his 10th consecutive selection, further cementing his place among the league’s most consistently respected defensive stars.
Sweat’s selection adds another accolade to a professional career built on steady production as a pass rusher. Since entering the league, the former FSU defensive end has developed into a dependable presence off the edge and remains one of the program’s most prominent active defenders in the NFL.
Ramsey’s 10th appearance places him among an exclusive group of NFL veterans who have remained on the list for a decade. Since entering the league in 2016, the former Seminole has built one of the most decorated careers of any defensive back of his generation, earning repeated recognition from fellow players for his versatility, competitiveness and impact across multiple franchises.
The rankings carry added weight because the order is determined by votes from current NFL players. For Florida State, the inclusion of Sweat and Ramsey provides another example of the program’s long-standing ability to send high-level defensive talent to the professional ranks.
Both players took different paths from Tallahassee to NFL stardom. Ramsey became the fifth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft after establishing himself as one of the nation’s premier defensive backs at Florida State. Sweat, meanwhile, overcame injuries during his college career before being selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, developing into one of the league’s most productive edge rushers.
Their placements also come before the entire list has been released, meaning Florida State could still add more names to this year’s countdown. For now, Sweat and Ramsey have ensured the Seminoles are represented among the players their NFL peers consider the league’s best entering the 2026 season.
