A man suffered serious injuries after being shot Sunday evening at a northwest Tallahassee apartment complex, according to the Tallahassee Police Department.
Officers responded around 7:15 p.m. July 19 to ReNew Apartments, 1505 W. Tharpe St., after receiving reports of a shooting. Police said the victim, an adult male, had already been taken to a local hospital by a friend when officers arrived and began searching for the crime scene.
Preliminary findings indicate the victim and the suspect met in the apartment complex parking lot before the shooting occurred. During the encounter, the victim was shot in the jaw, suffering serious injuries, police said.
The Renews Apartments complex, marketed as “Tallahassee’s Elite Student Living Community,” has been the site of a string of shootings in recent years.
No arrests had been made as of Sunday, and the investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Tallahassee Police Department.

Other weekend shootings
TPD is also investigating two other weekend shootings.
As of Sunday morning, both shootings in northwest Tallahassee were said to have had no injuries, according to a TPD watch commander.
As of 8 a.m. on July 19, officers were at the scene of a shooting at the 3200 block of North Monroe near the Baymont By Wyndham Suites. The watch commander said police were called after reports of gun shots being heard. Police found no people with injuries or damage to structures.
Police also responded to an earlier shooting somewhere on Dixie Drive Sunday before dawn. The watch commander said a vehicle and “maybe an apartment” were hit, but police found no victims of gunshot wounds and the suspects had fled the scene.
