Pensacola police are turning to the public for help in identifying a man related to the July 5 downtown fatal mass shooting.

Investigators are searching for a Black man photographed in the early morning hours of July 5 wearing a black shirt, black pants, gold chain and a jacket.

Investigators want to question him regarding the shooting that injured six people and killed 19-year-old Phillip Sheppard.

If anyone has information regarding the man’s name or whereabouts, the PPD asks the public to contact Detective Heather Deckle at 850-435-1986 or Crime Stoppers at 850-433-STOP.

Since the shooting, police have arrested 26-year-old Nicholas Safford, 16-year-old Kanye Walker and 25-year-old Lillian Meyers on a variety of charges. Trevon Bradley, a 20-year-old suspected of being Sheppard’s killer, shot himself July 16 as law enforcement attempted to arrest him.

Safford is charged with attempted first-degree premeditated murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and discharging a firearm in public. Meyers is charged with evidence tampering and accessory after the fact.

Walker, suspected of providing the gun Safford used, is charged as a principal to both attempted first-degree premeditated murder and aggravated assault. He’s also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor.
