The Tallahassee Police Department says it’s investigating a bank robbery that took place at the Regions Bank along North Monroe Street.
According to Tallahassee Online Police Statistics, TPD received a call around 9:16 a.m. June 22 for a “business robbery” at the bank.
According to TPD spokesperson Jerome Maples, the investigation is open and active. Police did not say if any money was taken.
The bank’s entrance was cordoned off with police tape and a printed note was on the door that read “EMERGENCY. This office is temporarily CLOSED.”
Regions Bank responded to a request for comment from the Tallahassee Democrat confirming the safety of their employees and customers.
“Our people and our customers are our highest priority, and everyone is safe. We thank local law enforcement for their quick response and will continue to support them as they investigate this incident,” Regions Bank wrote in a prepared statement.
