Notre Dame lands a second legacy commitment of day on Monday afternoon

While it was expected that Notre Dame football would land 2027 legacy wide receiver Julius Jones on Monday afternoon, what came after it wasn’t at all.

His younger brother Andre, a 5-foot, 11-inch and 185-pound safety in the 2028 class opted to join in the fun and also committed to the Irish. The younger Jones isn’t quite at the same level of prospect as his brother, ranking as the No. 315 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite, but it still should be viewed as a solid recruiting win.

Andre also had offers from Florida State, Indiana, Penn State, Oregon and a few others, showing that he’s not just a family gimme. With his commitment, that now makes two verbals in the 2028 class for Notre Dame, joining kicker Owen Davies who committed earlier this month.

It’s another great start for the Irish, and nice to see the Jones’ family name will continue to be a big part of what makes South Bend so special.
