It was a busy weekend for Ball State in terms of recruiting Northeast Ohio for its football team.
The Cardinals went two for two in landing standouts, as Hoban cornerback Jaiden Daniels joined McKinley edge Amare Mitchell with commitments to Ball State.
Daniel earned an offer from the Cardinals on May 13 and committed to them on June 20.
He committed to Ball State over Akron, Ohio University, Kent State, Toledo, Buffalo, UConn and Austin Peay.

Michigan, Cincinnati, Boston College, Indiana and Penn State also showed interest in the last month.
“Ball State is a coaching staff that believed in me as a player and person,” Daniels said in a message to the USA Today Network. “I knew it was the right place for me to grow and compete.”
Last season, Daniels registered 23 tackles and was a lockdown corner with 11 pass breakups and four interceptions.
Mitchell became the 10th overall commit for Ball State in the 2027 and just the fourth on defense.
He joins safety Demond Green (Frederick Douglas/Lexington, KY), cornerback Sebastian Moore (North Side/Fort Wayne, Ind.) and Mitchell on the defensive side of the ball.
“Ball State is getting a hardworking, team-first player who is going to give everything he has every day,” Daniels said. “As a person, they’re getting someone who leads by example, stays humble and is committed to representing the program the right way on and off the field.”
