New Florida football coach Jon Sumrall will have a captive audience when he takes part in his first SEC Football Media Days.
The event will be held on Sumrall’s new home state, at the at Tampa Marriott Water Street and JW Marriott, July 20-23, in Tampa.
It will mark the first time the city of Tampa and the state of Florida have hosted the SEC’s preseason media extravaganza. Dallas, Nashville and Atlanta have served as hosts the previous three years. The event should draw plenty of support from Gator Nation, given UF’s alumni presence in the greater Tampa Bay area and the curiosity surrounding the Florida Gators program under a first-year coach.
Sumrall is set to speak on Wednesday, July 22, on the same day as Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer, Ole Miss’s Pete Golding and Texas A&M’s Mike Elko.
A full rundown of times in which coaches will speak at the event will be announced at a later date. The SEC Network will once again bring the four-day event to a national audience.
Here’s a rundown of the schedule:
