New Goodwill Bargain Barn opens in Venice at former Tervis headquarters

Goodwill Industries-Manasota is opening a new by-the-pound thrift store in Sarasota County, transforming the former Tervis Tumbler Company headquarters in Venice into a new shopping destination.

The Goodwill Bargain Barn at 201 Triple Diamond Blvd. opens Wednesday, July 23, inside the 54,189-square-foot building, now home to what Goodwill calls its Triple Diamond Sustainability and Logistics Center. Local iHeart Radio hosts Maverick & Lulu will be on-site from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the grand opening.

The building became available after JV2 Innovative Products, a Wilmington, Delaware-based company, acquired a majority stake in Tervis Tumbler in 2025 and relocated the drinkware company’s headquarters from south Sarasota County to Bradenton.

The Bargain Barn operates on a by-the-pound pricing model, with open bins stocked with clothing, housewares, textiles and other donated goods restocked and rotated every 30 minutes throughout the day. The format is designed to reward the dedicated thrifter β€” inventory turns over constantly, meaning no two visits look the same.

“The Goodwill Bargain Barn is where community generosity becomes community opportunity,” said Donn Githens, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries-Manasota. “Every item customers discover here began as a donation from a neighbor in this community. When they shop the bins, they are supporting job training and employment for individuals working toward financial stability, and they are helping ensure donated goods continue to serve a purpose. That is the mission of Goodwill at work.”

Beyond retail, the Triple Diamond facility serves as a regional distribution and logistics hub supporting Goodwill’s broader mission across the region. In 2025, Goodwill Industries-Manasota repurposed and recycled more than 100 million pounds of goods while serving 7,527 individuals, providing 44,538 hours of education and training, placing 1,296 people in jobs and assisting 478 veterans. Nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent is reinvested into those programs.

The Goodwill Bargain Barn is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 201 Triple Diamond Blvd. in Venice. For more information, visit experiencegoodwill.org.
