A Fort Lauderdale woman was taken into custody July 11 on a warrant related to credit care fraud.
What happened: In February, a local liquor store in Stuart was hit with a $2,250 fraudulent charge after a transaction had been charged back to the cardholder. The owner of the store was not notified until three weeks later and left with the financial loss, Stuart Police posted on Facebook.
Detectives identified Aaliyah Chung, who had been linked to similar fraud cases in Milford, Connecticut, dating back to 2023. Chung used stolen credit card information to make unauthorized purchases without physically possessing the cards, according to the post.
Charges: Chung was taken into custody on a warrant out of Broward County for grand theft.
No further information was immediately available.
